The folly of youth is believing that there's always enough time for everything. Youngsters often believe that retirement, or wealth building, is something that comes later in life, and are more preoccupied with the concerns of the now. Unfortunately, this often leads to a cycle of "Oh, I should do that next month," month after month, until before you know it, you're 10 years older and you've missed out on a decade's worth of compounding interest. The first step is to stop procrastinating; saving and investing is scary, but the longer you wait to do it, the fewer advantages you have.
Millionaires are all around us, and many of them are probably not who you would think. This is because they smartly live below their means and save their money rather than showcase it. Of course, it’s easy to live below your means when you have millions, but even if you have far less, getting into the habit of spending minimally now will help you have a lot more later. The trick is adopting a “less is more” mentality and sticking with it, even when your income and net worth increase in the future.
Hi Max, wow, what an awesome job you did putting this together. The best part was giving your readers(now a newbie reader) the training tools along with the companies. Their is so much out their my head is still spinning, but your post made my head stop for now. I am trying to get as much info as I can so I can decide which ones will be the best for me. Your post was absolutely amazing and l look forward to reading more of your posts. Thank you so much. Oh, if you have any ideas on setting up a website, I would love to hear from you. Thanks again. Katie
Not only did he get richer than he could have imagined in his wildest dreams, but he also created sustainability. He was humbled by his past failures and he used that to grow, to identify opportunities and progress as a person. That isn't something simple to do. Many of our past beliefs and negative self-talk can easily limit us. But, when you're backed up against the wall, and your entire life is on the line, you'll often do what it takes to succeed.
Monevator: I don’t think a net worth goal is the way to go either, but a lot of people put stock in a number (it’s an easy concept for a lot of people who are new to personal finance). Personally I’m going for exactly what you mentioned – the crossover point where my investments are earning me more money in passive income than my day job. That is when I will feel financially free.
Writing is a very lucrative online career that can do more than be a side hustle. It’s a good thing the internet is here to stay and here’s why. For like-minded individuals looking to transition smoothly from a cushy day job to a side hustle and turn the side hustle into the full-time job will need to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to making the “writing side hustle” work for them. While a job is always good to have @ 1st because you need a roof over your head, one should focus more on entrepreneurship and not just having a job to pay the bills. That’s what the employer wants their employees to think and not be their own boss. Side hustles in my personal opinion bring out the best in everyone who makes good of writing online.

This is one that a lot of people have already done. I was in my Uber the other day and my driver was talking about Bitcoin. He told me he deposited $50 into Coinbase and it’s now at $150 in a few weeks. That’s a 33% return! If you wanted to try something this volatile, it’s at your own risk but only put up money your willing to lose. The risk is high, but the reward is high too. If you wanted to get in on the action, you can do it with the Coinbase app. If you sign up through this link and invest $100 then Coinbase will deposit $10 in your account – that’s 10% right there! Only invest what you can afford to lose.
People are always looking to have their cars washed and detailed. You could be a mobile car washer and detailer without having a permanent location. Reach out to people you know or make some flyers and put it in your neighbors' mailboxes. If you want to get serious about it, prop up a one-page website or give out business cards. You can make money quickly doing this.
Like virtual assistants, proofreaders can find jobs with almost any business that publishes content online. They provide a second set of eyes for publishers, and can help them create content that looks more polished and professional. Those with specialized skills, like transcript proofreading, can also find work proofreading transcripts for court reporters.
Online business is how I’ve made a living since 2003 and what has helped me retire early.  I make over $40,000 a month through my blog. You can create your own blog here with my easy 15-minute step-by-step tutorial.  You can start a blog for as little as $2.95 a month (less than a cup of coffee!).  Create a blog and leverage it into affiliate sales or product endorsement deals. Consider topics like:

Refinish old furniture from thrift stores, yard sales, or online ads. Sand down the furniture to smooth out the surfaces and buff off some of the old paint or stain. If you want to restain it, use a lacquer or paint thinner to remove the stain. Then, re-stain the piece. If you plan to repaint it, apply a primer and let it dry. Next, apply at least 2 coats of paint, letting each coat dry for at least 24 hours. If necessary, add new hardware to finish the piece.[13]
